why do i need to categorize everything? it started with my computer - everything in a folder, everything seperated, etc.. then its onto my website i did that, folders in my file drawers (at home AND work - though that isn't necessarilly bad, sifting through paper is harder than virtual) then onto my bloglines feed reader - i read everything so why does it matter if i've put something in the finance folder or the blogs folder - THEY GET READ!!
i'm finding that trying to do this same categorizing, everything in folders thing just doesn't work for me on my mac. its hard to dig deep in and find something when its so much easier to just open the finder and search for it. i'm pretty good with the names of files (i actually try to make them resemble what the file is about!) so it shouldnt be hard.
but MAN what is the deal with that? its almost more trouble than its worth sometimes.

can i say that i'm stoked that i'ts almost time to start using my new moleskine weekly planner for 2008? i'm a book nerd i know... i love paper, journals, planners, etc.. i geek myself out on my macbook but i love the feel of paper and pen together. i always have. i just pulled out my moleskine that has been sitting patiently in my desk for about 2 months (maybe longer?) and i realized that i had already entered some things in (i was impatient when i got it maybe?!). i love the feel of the paper, its so smooth, soft. i would like to get one of the moleskine hard-plain journals to carry around. i realize that i do a lot of my "thinking" that i would like to write about when i'm away from a computer. they are small and could easily fit in my bag and i could pull it out and write anytime. i might also want to get one of them for my knitting and other projects - i mentioned somewhere (maybe ravelry) that i needed something better tan what i had been using cause i like to make lots of notes about things (i'm weird that way!).
gee, have i posted enough things today?

whether you celebrate christmas, hannukah, yule, festivus, or anything of the like.. i'm sure all of us have traditions, activities that we love during this time of year. i would like to hear about them!
my favorite holiday activity or tradition is putting up the tree and all the decorations. we usually put on 'white christmas' or 'holiday inn' though i think last year we watched 'christmas vacation', we pull everything out and i 'ohh' and 'ahh' over all the ornaments. i get a kick out of it because pandy remembers them from last year and she also 'ohh's' and 'ahh's' over them as much as i do. once we get it all set up, just sitting in the dark looking at the lit tree really makes me feel warm inside.
a close second is probably driving the kid around to see christmas lights. from the big displays to the tiny she thinks they are all beautiful, magical, and something to be excited about.
this year was just as wonderful as we watched 'white christmas' and put the tree up. pandy loves the new tree and really got a kick out of using the step ladder to put things higher than her usual reach. she was so gentle with some of the ornaments and also reminding me to be careful with them! just watching her be so excited as she sees her stocking on the mantle, the decorations all over the house, that really makes it worthwhile and why i love doing it even more!

I just finished knitting my first project - a small coin purse for Pandy. I'm so excited to have finished it (I started yesterday!). its a small project, but I'm still learning but it feels soooo good to knit. its relaxing, its time consuming but in a good way, and i love the feeling of making something for Pan that is handmade. She loved it and was thrilled to death. I picked this yarn out especially for her, she loves blue and its just really pretty variegated blue. she wants to put a strap on it so she can carry it around, but i think I might make her a purse to go with it. I'm also making her a scarf (her request). It just feels really great making this.
I'm going to try to make a lot of my Christmas gifts because we are trying to spend wisely. i know that comes as a shock to those that know of our recent television purchase, but we've wanted this for awhile (john longer, but i was a convert to it also and LOVE it) and it was nice to do something for us.
Anyway, here are a couple of really bad pictures (taken with photobooth because i need to charge my camera batteries) of Pandy's coin purse!

Do you have any phobias?
Submitted by Amirul B Ruslan.
i don't think i have any true phobias, i'm sometimes freaked out by insects and slimy things, but not so much as to get into a complete hysterical tizzy!
